Late last year a friend invited me to take part in a show that would include a glass artist and weaver. The theme was “Come to the Table: Everyone Welcome”. This show pushed me to create a new body of functional work to coordinate with the work of these other artists. I’m grateful to my friend for pushing me in a new direction because it forced me to create work that has been in my head for a long time, but was too afraid to pursue it. Now it’s out of my head and in the world and I’m thriving in my studio.
I have three wonderful shows coming up this year, starting this weekend.
I’m proud to take part in the 40th Ceramic Showcase, April 28-30. Truly an extraordinary event with a beautiful history celebrating and supporting Oregon potters and all their hard work. I’ll be showing my new body of work in Booth #57 with my friend John McLaughlin. www.ceramicshowcase.com www.oregonpotters.org
Damascus Open Studio, May 19, 20, 21. This event is a fun weekend of art and meeting new people. 8 studio artists in the Damascus area open their studios to show the public where they work and what they are creating. Each studio also hosts other Oregon artists working in many mediums.
Chehalem Mountain Art Affair July 29th and 30th. This will be my 3rd appearance at this beloved event. An incredible honor to be invited to show my work and spend the weekend with some of the best artist in Oregon. The location alone is breathtaking and the art fills all the senses with joy. Such a fun group.
